 | | Vidoe Jockeys from Edgewood | On February 21 this year, members of our 6th grade classes served as VJ’s (video jockeys) and presenters for the 2008 Megaconference Jr., an international video conference for students. There were 216 schools from around the world watching or participating via video conferencing.
Our VJ's were 1 of 10 groups selected to introduce the | | Monarch Jeopardy Game | various school presentations from around the country. In addition to the honor of being selected to VJ, one of our 6th grade classes was also selected to present their interactive Monarch Jeopardy game, on a Smart Board. Two schools connected with Edgewood via video conferencing to compete in the game. Those schools are in Pittsburgh, | | Monarch Jeopardy Game | PA and Ontario, Canada.
During the video conference, our students operated all of the technology – Smart Board, mute switches, polycom video conferencing camera, and laptop computers. They did a fabulous job of making introductions, being MC’s, using | | Monarch Jeopardy Game | cue cards, rotating positions, and answering questions. We are very proud of all of our Edgewood students!
Many thanks to Edgewood’s community partner, Cummins Power Generation of Fridley, MN for their generous gift of our video conferencing equipment. Cummins Power Generation is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of power generation equipment.
