Every year, Intel honors U.S. schools that have demonstrated excellence in math and science education as Intel Schools of Distinction
Edgewood Elementary: A Science, Math & Technology School has been named a finalist for the Intel School of Distinction award. In recognition of our success as a finalist we will receive $2,500.
We are one of only three schools in the nation that are finalists in our category, “Elementary Science”. The Intel representative said that the competition was fierce.
The final winner in each of two categories - math and science, one each in elementary, middle, and high school - receives $10,000 cash grants and more than $100,000 in products and services from sponsors. The final winners will be announced in June 2008.
One of the six winning schools is chosen as the Star Innovator, and receives an additional $15,000 grant from the Intel Foundation as well as additional products and services.
